Denmark is located in Northern Europe, forming part of the Scandinavian region. It borders Germany to the south and is surrounded by the North Sea to the west and the Baltic Sea to the east, with maritime boundaries with Sweden and Norway. The country covers an area of approximately 43,100 square kilometers, including the Jutland Peninsula and numerous islands.
Denmark has relatively short rivers due to its flat terrain. The most important rivers include the Gudenå, the longest river in the country, along with the Skjern Å and the Odense Å. While these rivers are not long, they play an important role in local ecosystems, agriculture, and water management.

The geography of Denmark is characterized by low-lying plains, gentle hills, and an extensive coastline. The country lacks high mountains and is shaped largely by glacial processes from the last Ice Age. Its landscape includes sandy coasts, fertile farmland, and wetlands, contributing to a generally temperate maritime climate.
Administratively, Denmark is divided into five regions, which are further subdivided into municipalities. The country also includes the autonomous territories of Greenland and the Faroe Islands within the Kingdom of Denmark. Denmark has a population of approximately 5.9 million people, concentrated mainly in urban areas such as Copenhagen and Aarhus.
